PHOTOGRAPHY By MISCHA RAPMUND
Mischa Rapmund was born in The Netherlands, 1977.
After graduating in graphic design and photojournlism, he began his career as an graphic designer for several international advertising agencies, but moved on to photojournalism. Based in The Netherlands Mischa Rapmund is a photojournalist comitted to documenting news and social issues. He has covered a large variety of subjects (ranging from squatter riots, refugees to sports, music and social documentairy series).
Rapmund is a passion filled photographer, whose images focus on the gesture of the people and the world around him. His unique style stems from his creative use of light, dynamic composition, imagination and a desire to see and show people for who they really are.
"If a photographer cares about the people before the lens and is compassionate, much is given. It is the photographer, not the camera, that is the instrument."
In 2006 he won a honorable mention (Photojournalism) at the ‘Black & White Spider Awards’. Judges include: Magnum Photos (New York), Sotheby’s (New York) and Tate Gallery (London).
